The Opportunity 

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Assistant Project Manager to join our Consulting Project Management team in London.

 

In this specific role you will join our team delivering systems engineering services across Transport for London’s Infrastructure Improvement Framework (IIF) portfolio, supporting the development and assurance of a range of infrastructure programmes that improve reliability, capacity and passenger experience across the network. 

 

The role 

As an Assistant Project Manager you will provide effective support and assistance to the Project Manager in the production and maintenance of project management deliverables and reporting documents. To work under the general direction of line manager / more senior staff, assisting in the production and maintenance of project management reporting documents for Amey Consulting commissions.

Responsibilities include: 

  • To work in a team, assisting in the production and monitoring of project management reporting documents, complying with all relevant contract and client requirements
  • Assist with the delivery of weekly project management documents associated with financial, resource or time related reporting.
  • Support the development of programmes (tasks, resource and cost associated) with service delivery on account.
  • Support Delivery Management Team on cost/ fee governance assurance on the account
  • The individual will form a relationship with representatives of the project management professional body to ensure career development.
  • General office duties associated with the smooth running of a consulting engineering business.

 

 

What you will bring to us: 

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering, project management, finance, etc.
  • Associate membership of the Association for Project Management and / or Association for Project Management Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) or equivalent is desirable. 
  • Understanding of project management principles and best practices, gained through experience
  • Previous experience delivering projects for TfL(Transport for London) or within a TfL-regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Basic Commercial Awareness
  • Basic understanding of Health, Safety and Welfare, including specific regulations
  • Ability to produce reports to a good standard
  • Basic understanding of the different interfaces between tasks in a programme. Can produce reports to a good standard
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of the different interfaces on projects
  • Moving towards being capable of supervising more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks
